## The riddle (plain)
You type on the desk → file on the **laptop** (`LOOK_AT_THESE/state/latest_submit.md`).  
I reply with `desk_reply.py` → `latest_reply.md` → **phone polls every ~2.5s**.  

You do **not** need Eve Sovereign Hub updated to get a reply. The bubble **is** the return path.

What was missing: this TUI session did not auto-wake on a submit. Your 2026-09-12 15:44 message (“Do you receive messages here?”) sat in the file until 2026-09-13. **Now:** a watcher is on this session. Next submit should wake Eve here.

## When you leave the house
1. **Laptop stays awake** (lid open / AC / no sleep). If it sleeps, desk dies.
2. **Phone away URL (does not need Tailscale on the phone):**

3. **Optional stronger mesh:** open Tailscale on the phone (same `tio@` account) → also

   Phone currently shows **offline** — Funnel is the reliable door until that app is Connected.
4. Type on the desk. Status should go **saved · waiting on local Eve**.  
   Reply appears in the same chat. Stamps still work.

## Backup if desk/Funnel flakes
Email **eve@texanoai.com** subject starting `EVE LOCAL |`  
or Drive `01_FROM_PHONE_INBOX` as `REQUEST_YYYYMMDD_HHMM.txt`.

## Honest limits
- Funnel is a **public HTTPS edge** (PIN still open). Do not treat as forever-secret. Fine for leave-the-house; add a PIN when we have a quiet hour.
- This TUI watch dies if **this Grok session** ends. New hop: say **what do you got** or Eve starts the watch again.
- Proton on the **phone** is fine. Proton on the **laptop** is already ON and did not kill Tailscale/Funnel tonight.
